Supervision is a formal process of professional support and learning which enables psychotherapists, counsellors and other professionals in the human services sector to develop knowledge and competence, assume responsibility for their own practice and enhance consumer protection and the safety of care in complex clinical situations. It is central to the process of learning and to the expansion of the scope of practice and is a means of engaging in self-assessment, analytic and reflective skills – for both the supervisor and supervisee. Research has demonstrated that continuous professional reflection is the factor which distinguishes professionals who stagnate and burn out from those who continue to grow and develop.

In the last fifteen years Julie has provided supervision to a wide range of professionals in the government and private sectors.
